Terms of Service

Rules for using PDFToolbox, our free online PDF tools.

Last updated: July 8, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using PDFToolbox (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.

2. The service

PDFToolbox provides free online tools for working with PDF documents: merging, splitting, compressing, converting, and editing. Some tools process files entirely in your browser; others process files on our servers. Each tool states which applies before you upload anything.

3. Your files and content

  • You keep all rights to the documents you process. We claim no ownership of, or license to, your content beyond what is technically necessary to run the tool you requested.
  • You are responsible for the content you process and must have the right to use it. Do not process material that is illegal or that you do not have permission to modify.
  • Server-processed files are stored temporarily, deleted automatically within 2 hours of job completion, and can be deleted immediately from the result page. See the privacy policy for details.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use automated scripts to submit bulk jobs or scrape the Service;
  • attempt to access other users' files, tokens, or result links;
  • upload malware or content designed to disrupt the Service;
  • use the Service to violate any law, including copyright and data-protection law;
  • resell or misrepresent the Service as your own.

We may block traffic that threatens the stability or security of the Service.

5. Availability, no warranty

The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any conversion will perfectly preserve formatting. Always keep your original files.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFToolbox and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use the Service — which is zero.

7. Advertising

The Service is funded by third-party advertising (Google AdSense) displayed in marked areas. Advertisers do not receive the content of your documents. Cookie use related to advertising is described in the cookie policy.

8. Changes and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the tools available but have no obligation to maintain any particular feature.
